Valve Motor Drive Controllers The Partlow "VDM" process controllers have been designed specifically to drive valve motors with a unique tuning algorithm. Use these controllers with motor actuated valves which open and close using a motor. The position of the valve stem controls the flow through the valve. the VDM controllers use the process variable as an input and then control the valve position to yield the proper flow or temperature for example. These units consist work by using a continuous on-line open loop tuning to give stable control at all times. Tuning the P and I terms with an auto-tune algorithm also reduces valve activity (hunting) to an absolute minimum without compromising the control quality. This then reduces wear and tear on the mechanical components including the contactors, relays and valve parts.
