Controllers
HI 700 and HI 710 Conductivity Controllers
Commonly used in boiler, cooling tower and
electroplating applications, conductivity is also used in brewery, food,
paper/textile and detergent manufacturing processes.
The "Technical Info" area of this website
discusses conductivity measurement in greater detail. (see blue underlined link
below)
Technical Article: Conductivity Measurement
Process controllers shown below are used
for all of the applications listed above.

- Conductivity input either: 4-20mA or
4-Ring probe

- Optional: Wall mounted enclosure (HI 23)
- Weight: 3.5 lbs (1.6kg)
- Power: 115VAC or 230VAC
Probe, HI 7639:
The recommended sensor (HI 7639) for this controller
uses a four ring potentiometric method of measuring conductivity. The
rings are made of platinum and provides a more stable measurement over a wide
range. Unlike conventional sensors, this probe does not need frequent
calibration. And because of its design, polarization is not an issue.
The internal RTD provides the controller with automatic temperature
compensation.
- Sensor: 4-Ring Platinum
- Body: Ultem high temperature plastic and glass
- Connection: 3/8" NPT Stainless Steel threaded
- Cable: 4 meters
- Temperature compensation: Pt100
- Length: 60mm (not including threads)
- Diameter of sensor: 12 mm
- Maximum temperature: 120ºC
(248ºF)
- Maximum pressure: 5 bar (73 psi)
Transmitter, HI 8936:
Using a similar sensor (HI 7638) the
Hanna Conductivity Transmitter series allows a temperature compensated analog
signal to be input to the controller. The transmitters require 24vdc
external power to energize the loop current.
- Output: 4-20mA (maximum 500Ω)
- Enclosure: IP65 Waterproof
- Local display: Optional
- Temperature compensation: 0-50ºC
- Calibration: 2 point
- Ranges (selectable):
- 0.0-199.9mS/cm
- 0.00-19.99mS/cm
- 0-1999 ųS/cm
- 0.0-199.9 ųS/cm
