About Chart Recorders Charts and chart recorders are available for any recorder we sell. We also have charts & ink cartridges (pens) for instruments made by any manufacturer. We stock a wide variety of 7 day and 24 hour circular charts as well as red, green, and multi-pen cartridges. Chart recorders are often used in process control systems because they are required by regulatory agencies. Process control operators prefer circular chart recorders because the recorder data can be seen long after it is recorded. Chart recorders are commonly used to record effluent pH and flow data in waste treatment systems as well as temperature data from refrigeration or heating applications. The recorders are also called upon for alarming of high temperatures, high or low pH, and conversion of level data from an ultrasonic transmitter to useable flow rate data. Flow totalization is derived from flow rate data and can be displayed in numeric fashion on the charts and the displays of chart recorders. More complex logic, i.e. Boolean can be performed on the input data.
This type of specialty programming has been a hallmark of MBH Engineering. We have many applications where complex logic is needed to solve a process control problem. Recorders should provide a lot more than just a trace on paper. We have models which will use PID control outputs and profile control. Profile controlling chart recorders are commonly used in temperature/humidity (dry bulb/wet bulb) applications such as in kilns used for lumber drying.
